Nandi drinking vessel 19th century. Horn carved and silver mounted. Round foot with tongue frieze with ascending trains. Shaft formed by four segments with portrait medallions underlaid with oak leaves. Nodus with engraved vegetable ornaments. Mounted horn with lily frieze and carved out figure of Nandi, the faithful companion of Shiva, accompanied by two sculptured partly mounted crossing cobra figures as a reference to Shiva. Height: 25.4 cm. Weight: 513 g. Marks on the foot on the stand ring, Berlin 19th Century. ------------------- Coppa in corno di bufalo scolpito in un solo blocco raffigurante Nandi, la mitica cavalcatura di Shiva e due cobra suoi fedeli attributi. Montatura e base in argento. Punzoni della cittą di berlino XIX secolo. |
