A pair of inlaid stone panels with motifs after Jacques Callot, hardstone marquetry in various marbles on black ground. Florence, late 17th / early 18th C. h. 10,5 x 12 cm. Jacopo Capuzo published the "Varie Figure Gobbi di Jacopo Callot" in Florence after 1622, which is how the workshops came into possession of the designs. Requests for these bizarre figures continued into the 18th century. |
